Course Outline

This course consists of a combination of economics, accounting, law and enterprise studies (involves planning, producing and marketing your own product). Students will be doing a project which involves having a market day and preparing and reviewing their business activity in their business groups. It is part of an integrated program which is further developed in Economics, Accounting and Business Studies at Years 11, 12 and 13. Students may pick up Business Studies for the first time at this year level, as there is no prerequisite for entry. 

This course will also help students to understand how the individual makes economic decisions and is aimed at helping them to gain the skills needed to manage their personal limited means. It also examines their role in the community and how they can contribute to the economy. It has a practical base that students are required to follow through on their planning and skills.


Business Studies can lead to a wide range of career paths including business owner, accountant, auditor, financial advisor, finance manager, policy analyst, statistician economist, marketing and/ management and elected government representative.
