11SSCS
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr R. Eyre.

Who would be interested in this course?

Students who enjoyed the Astronomy topic in Year 9 Science and are interested in studying Earth and Space Science throughout the Senior school/

Why is Samoa warmer than Auckland?  Why does Matariki rise at the same time each year? How does the moon affect the best time to go fishing?  All these questions and more can be explained by the Solar Cycles, patterns of movement of objects in space that have been observed for thousands of years.  Learn how these cycles can affect our everyday lives, and set the scene for our biggest cultural events.

This course will prepare you to continue into Earth and Space Science in Year 12.
