LEARNING ACTIVITIES: This is a practical course where students use machinery found in the fashion industry. They will complete the following activities: operate industrial machines, garment construction, pattern development, and knowledge of fabric properties. There is also an opportunity for Gateway.
A study of fashion and apparel opens the way to a wide variety of careers and interests. This course provides vocational pathways in manufacturing and technology, and creative industries. Careers in these industries include: Clothing designer, product designer, interior decorating, textiles design, costume designer, patternmaker, seamstress, merchandiser and work that involves using a creative design process.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 11 Fashion and Design would be an advantage.
