Who would be interested in this course?Students who enjoyed the physics and earth science aspects of Year 9 & 10 Science, and are interested in studying Physics &/or Earth and Space Science throughout the Senior school.
Earth Science is largely Physics in Action. Learn how fundamental physical ideas like heat and energy drive Earth systems like plate tectonics, climate change and the weather.
This course will prepare you to continue into Physics &/or Earth and Space Science at Year 12.
This is a half year course and counts as one of your two Science courses, or one of your additional option selections.
Although there are assessments to measure your progress, this course does not earn any credits.
There will be formative assessments during the learning process, such as test style assessment applying concepts learned to new situations, and research and report writing on an Earth Science Event.
