Year 11 Humanities - Urban Geography: City Scapes

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs D. Norman.

Why do cities exist? What problems do they have? How do we solve these issues?

This course examines how the modern world has created large megacities and the key issues that we as a people and a planet face because of our new, modern ways of living. Students will examine how cities function, why they are located where they are, key issues of sustainability and also the conflict that occurs when different groups view the landscape differently.

This course seeks to inspire and inform the next generation of town planners, engineering problem solvers and community saviours to begin their work to improve our society.

There maybe an opportunity to sit ONE internal assessment.

This is a half year course and counts as one option course selection.
