Level 2 Accounting

Year 12 Accounting offers students the opportunity to develop logical thinking skills as well as providing a conceptual understanding of the workings of small organisations. Students continue to build upon the five strands developed in Level 1 Accounting.
The development of skills in the use of spreadsheets, word processing and accounting software will be used to appreciate the place of ICT in Accounting.
Additional development also continues on the preparation and detailed interpretation of financial statements for sole proprietors.
This course provides a foundation for further study at tertiary institutions and prepares students to work as an accountant, auditor, financial advisor, finance manager, policy analyst, financial dealer and statistician.
Recommended Prior Learning
Ideally 10 Level 1 NCEA Accounting credits or with HOD’s approval.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 19 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 9 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 10 credits.
