Level 2 Psychology

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs D. Norman.

Psychology is the scientific study of human thoughts, emotions and actions and helps us to understand human behaviour. Psychology looks to understand  and find the answer to questions like:

  • What makes us, us?
  • Why do we do the things that we do?
  • Why do people take risks?
  • How does culture influence our behaviour?

Students that take psychology will gain a better understanding of the world around them but also of what makes them tick. Students will look at what motivates people and develop the knowledge that will help them to become reflective and compassionate citizens, a must for all Social Scientists.

Student will do this through looking at a range of studies and theories based in psychology and by:

  • engaging in psychological debates
  • understand psychological approaches and how the theory can be used to explain a human behaviour.
  • look into ethics in psychological research
  • engaging in research.
