Year 11 Science - Chemicals of Biological Life
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr R. Eyre.
Biology: What are living things made from? Laboratory skills are an essential part of cell biology and problem solving an essential skill for genetics. Together cells and genetics will help you answer this question about life.
Chemistry: Introduction to the basics of carbon chemistry, identification and reactions of simple carbon compounds and how the use of these as fuel sources can affect the environment.
Expect practical activities, written course work, scientific vocabulary and eLearning. Students interested in studying Biology &/or Chemistry throughout the Senior school
This is a half year course and counts as one of your two Science courses, or one of your additional option selections.
Who would be interested in this course?
Students who enjoyed the Biology and Chemistry aspects of Year 9 & 10 Science, and are interested in studying Biology &/or Chemistry throughout the Senior school.
