Who would be interested in this course?Students who have previously earned 12 credits from NCEA Level 1ART, 1ADM or 1PHO, 2ARD, 2ARP, 2PHO, Design and Visual Communication or Fashion Design. If new to Visual Art and Design, students must seek permission from the HOD of Visual Arts (Mr Hambridge).
Exclusions: a maximum of TWO Visual Arts courses may be taken.
LEARNING ACTIVITIES: Design related research, e-learning, drawing, scanning, illustration, designing, digital photography, digital painting, computer graphics, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, collage, mixed media, construction, typography, moving image, folio presentation, scholarship research, exhibition of artwork.
This course leads to tertiary study for a very wide range of careers: graphic design, product design, concept art, interior design, spatial design, architecture, magazine and book design, animation, illustration, computer graphics, fashion design, textile design, photography, creative industries and education.

Contributions and Equipment/StationeryAll course related materials for use in class will be supplied by the school. It is highly recommended that a 16GB USB flash drive is purchased and that students sign up for the discount priced Adobe license offered by the school, which will allow students access to Abode Photoshop at home.
