Level 2 EAP - English for Academic Purposes
2EAP Course DescriptionTeacher in Charge: Mr C. Bangs.
Who would be interested in this course?For students from language backgrounds other than English. A pre-entry test will be given to determine the language level. Level 1 Literacy. This course is the first year of a two-year course: 2EAP in 2024 and 3EAP in 2025.
Students will develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the pre-advanced level. They will also focus on learning and using academic vocabulary and associated grammar and language structures, and on developing academic writing. Opportunities to gain Literacy 1 will also be given.
Entry into the 2EAP course is by recommendation from the 1EAP teacher or HOD ESOL Mr Bangs.

Assessment Information
Diagnostic and formative assessment of reading, writing, speaking and listening will be used to determine progress and readiness to sit the standards.
Level 3 EAP - English for Academic Purposes
The 2EAP course is part of a two-year pathway 2EAP and 3EAP, in which students prepare for Level 2 literacy standards required for university entrance.
