Teacher in Charge: Ms J. Moss.
In this subject we explore a variety of texts and text types. We strive to understand how meaning is constructed in texts and then craft texts to create meaning and explore self-expression.
In Year 10, students continue their exploration of short texts written by New Zealand authors. Additionally we focus on developing products which meet a brief and develop our presentation skills. We create short films which demonstrate our understanding of film and genre conventions. Spoken word and performance poetry are the focus for the end of the year.
There are four assessments throughout the year, each loosely tied to a term. Multiple skills will be assessed in each activity.
