Level 2 EAP - English for Academic Purposes

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr C. Bangs.

Students will develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the pre-advanced level. They will also focus on learning and using academic vocabulary and associated grammar and language structures, and on developing academic writing.

Entry into the 2EAP course is by recommendation from the 1EAP teacher or HOD ESOL Mr Bangs.


Who would be interested in this course?

For students from language backgrounds other than English. A pre-entry test will be given to determine the language level. Level 1 Literacy. This course is the first year of a two-year course: 2EAP in 2024 and 3EAP in 2025.

Pathway

The 2EAP course is part of a two-year pathway 2EAP and 3EAP, in which students prepare for Level 2 literacy standards required for university entrance.

Assessment Information

Diagnostic and formative assessment of reading, writing, speaking and listening will be used to determine progress and readiness to sit the standards.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
