Year 11 Mathematics - Maths in Three Dimensions
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr K. Paine.
This course is intended for those students who are interested in a Trades career in areas such as manufacturing, heavy industry, building/construction, architectural drawing, product design and development, surveying and mapping. The learning will focus on the practical applications of number, finance, measurement, location and space, area, volume and geometry, including right angled triangles, polygons, circles and their prisms in 3 dimensions. This course will also spend some time on Numeracy revision, for those students who are sitting this digital assessment.
This is a full year course and counts as both of your Mathematics course selections.
Who would be interested in this course?
This course is intended for those students who are interested in a Trades career in areas such as manufacturing, heavy industry, building/construction, architectural drawing, product design and development, surveying and mapping. Success in this course will prepare students well for entry into 2MAT Level 2 General Mathematics. This course does not prepare students for 2MAC Level 2 Algebra and Calculus, however, entry into 2MAS Level 2 Statistics is still possible.
