Level 3 Early Childhood Education

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms S. Wensor

This course expands on the knowledge and skills taught in the Level 2 ECE course. Students will unpack the Early Childhood Curriculum and use this document to create play based learning experiences for young children's development. Completion of practical play activities in class to develop an understanding of how children play, and the types of play is necessary for students to go on an optional one-day work experience at an early childhood education centre for assessment purposes. Professional conduct within an early childhood education centre is required.

This course links to the Social and Community Services Sector pathway and encompasses these
sector related careers: early childhood education, primary teaching, nursing, nannying, babysitting, flight attendant and parenting. Students can gain credits towards the Level 3 National Certificate in Early Childhood and the Level 5 National Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Pathway to tertiary study.
