Course Description

LEARNING ACTIVITIES: This course follows the national curriculum, covering speaking, listening, writing, reading, presenting and viewing. There is a clear focus on visual text analysis and creation. A thematic approach is used for the selection of texts offered to students which will appeal to a wide range of teenagers. Response to a studied visual text and unfamiliar texts are assessed in the external exam.
English is a language-rich subject, and a requirement for all future career and vocational pathways.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A suitable device and 1B5 exercise book.
Recommended Prior Learning
Achievement in at least one of the writing, or response to text standards offered in the 11ENF or 11ENC courses. If this does not apply then permission may be granted at the discretion of the HOF.
