Course Description

LEARNING ACTIVITIES: Students will design a solution within a given context using the design process. They will also create a product using hard materials. Students will learn how to use machinery and hand tools and learn assemble techniques that reflect industry codes
of practice.
Note: Students must achieve US497 within the specified time frame in Term 1 to continue with this course.
This course links to the manufacturing and technology sector and the creative industries sector and encompasses these sector related careers: Graphic designer, construction worker, civil engineer, carpenter, project manager, environmental engineer and furniture designer.
Recommended Prior Learning
End of year Achievement grade of 3 (or higher) in Year 10 Technology and/or English, Science or alternatively by HOD approval.
