Level 1 Pacific Arts and Literature
Teacher in Charge: Ms S. Allpress
Pacific Arts and Literature
This is a new course in 2021.
This course combines learning in both English and Drama. The course allows students to gain sufficient learning in both areas to progress to Level 2 courses in each subject the following year.
Learning in each subject will be linked through common themes with a focus on texts and contexts that reflect our New Zealand and Pacific experiences. Devising for drama will be linked to writing in English, while the scenes studied for Drama Techniques will be linked to ideas developed for the oral or visual presentation in English.
Recommended Prior Learning
It would be useful to have taken Drama in either Year 9 or Year 10 but it is not essential. You may have gained some confidence in speaking and presentation skills through your junior English courses or through involvement in Debating teams or participation in extra curricula activities in either cultural or performing arts.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 22 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 4 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 18 credits.
It is the policy of Lynfield College to have school-wide policies that inform parents and students of the criteria for administering all Assessments for National Qualifications.
