Year 10 Design and Visual Communication
Teacher in Charge: Ms S. Wensor
This course will introduce students to the skills and practices used in the design of products
and architectural spaces. The main focus will be on communication through freehand sketching. In addition, a broad range of other visual techniques will be explored. These include: CAD modeling, physical modeling and hand rendering. This course uses a mix of project based work and structured exercises to facilitate student learning and skill development.
A study of Design and Visual Communication can lead to a wide range of career paths including
architecture, product design, game development and interior design.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students will need a pencil and A3 sketch pad.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in drawing and design.
